Jesus, Bring the Rain

After a long and beautifully emotional weekend at home with Victoria's street dedication and high school graduation, God really comforted me with this song. As I listened to the words over and over and over again, I knew this was MY song. No matter what, Christ is always by my side and I beg Him that I will never leave His side despite the pain, despite the days of rain. So I share with you this song that has comforted me so, and inspired me to put together a simple slide show of pictures about Victoria.
PS- One of the most moving experiences of the weekend was when Victoria's high school principle presented my dad with her honorary diploma at the graduation ceremony, and the entire auditorium stood up for several minutes and gave Victoria and my family a standing ovation. Wow. Jesus, Bring the rain. (and the Kleenex!) I love you Victoria.
"I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray
Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain
I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what's a little rain
So I pray
Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty"

I've known since you were born that there was something special about you- you radiate Christ's love in everything you do. You're an amazing person-and I'm blessed to be your mother. You bring me so much joy! But most importantly, you bring genuine joy to everyone you encounter. I'm so proud of you and everything you've become. God must be so proud of His creation. I know I am. I love you. Mom

I loved seeing all of the pics of your sister. I didn't know her, but just knowing how you are putting all of your trust in our Lord, is SO amazing to me. You've been so open & honest here on your blog, & I appreciate the transparency. You definitely bring me joy & just like your mom said: God is definitely so proud of you! From what I've heard, Victoria was the same way. :) Thank you so much for being such a godly inspiration to me!
